This is a well-used but pretty well cared for binocular developed by Swift apparently as a younger sibling to the Audubon. The only fault I can find is what may be spot on one of the prisms, but I have difficulty finding it and of course it's invisible while viewing. The binocular is in collimation; the view is bright and sharp, focus is easy and precise; the diopter works easily, and the lenses are clean.
Like many binoculars of this era, the Osprey is very particular about focus: there doesn't seem to be much depth of field at birding distances. The close-focus is about 30', which is fine for looking at the instrument's namesake (Osprey) but not for butterflies. Markings include JB56, Hiyoshi Kogaku, who developed the Audubon 8.5x44. Ther serial number 87XXXX suggests a date of 1987. Bak-4 glass. For a 38-year-old binocular, these are pretty darn good.
ONLY 90 EUROS.
COLLECTION ONLY.
