IT Support Engineer

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will provide support for all desktop related issues via telephone and remote connections using our ticketing systems. In addition to staying abreast of industry trends and best practices, you will provide technical assistant to computer system users including problem assessment/resolution and software and hardware installation and configuration, when necessary.
As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for resolving issues and problems of IT infrastructure. It is imperative that you can communicate clearly and accurately in English with a professional matter.
Assist and resolve daily technical issues remotely or on-site.
Activation/Deactivation of company's services e.g., VOIP Telephony, Email, Onboarding/Offboarding of new staff etc.
Inform the IT Manager on a day-to-day operations matter
To back-up other colleagues within the same department localy or in other countries in case of absence and ensure smooth flow of operations
Respond to general inquiries as necessary and coordinate with the IT Manager.
You will also be required to record and document system settings and resolutions within the company’s management system.
To be considered, you must:
EXCELLENT communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
EXCELLENT English with active listening, written and verbal communication skills.
You must also have the ability to prioritize your workload effectively.
Experience with PCs Hardware and Networking(Firewalls/Smart Switches/VPN etc).
Industry Certifications will be considered as an advantage.
Ability to work individually
Ability to work shifts, on a rotational basis (including public holidays)
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Self-motivated and driven
Familiarity and Experience with MAC / Google Environments will be considered as an advantage.
Adhere to departmental procedures to ensure users and managers are kept well informed of ticket status and product availability in order to manage users expectations and ensure overall satisfaction.
