Nikon AF Nikkor 70–300mm f/4–5.6G Telephoto Zoom Lens
This is a classic Nikon AF-G telephoto zoom lens, compatible with Nikon DSLR and film cameras that feature a built-in autofocus motor (e.g. Nikon D700, D300, D90, F100, F80, etc.). It will not autofocus on entry-level Nikon bodies without a built-in motor (such as D3xxx and D5xxx series).
The lens is in excellent cosmetic and optical condition – the glass is clean and clear, coatings intact, and it delivers beautiful, sharp images with great color rendition. The autofocus system works smoothly and accurately.
Important note: The zoom ring (the round ring used to adjust focal length) is broken. It can still rotate, but it does not change the focal length in the usual way. However, you can adjust focal length by gently pulling or pushing the front section of the lens in and out. This allows you to switch between focal lengths, but it is less convenient than using the normal zoom ring.
For this reason, the lens is ideal for:
Photographers who mainly want to use it at one fixed focal length (e.g. 70mm, 135mm, or 300mm).
Buyers who don’t mind the workaround of adjusting focal length by pulling/pushing the lens barrel.
Anyone looking for an affordable telephoto with working autofocus and excellent optics.
In short: Autofocus and image quality are perfect, but the zoom adjustment must be done manually by sliding the front part of the lens.
