- Other information: really nice old toy, we are not entirely sure as to the date but looks to us like a 1950s product, perhaps an outside chance of it being from the 1940s.

WEAVING LOOM
With this frame even very young children can design pretty strips in a great variety of colours and patterns up to the width of the frames.
Preparation of the Warp.
The way this is done is easily seen, as the warp is already prepared on the frame.
The actual weaving is done by threading the wool through the needle, and threading this needle across the warp in such a way that one thread of the warp is over the needle, and the next one under the needle.
To obtain the best results, care must be taken to weave evenly, and not too tightly or too loosely.
You will find this work very simple and the required length is quickly made. The best way to fix the wool at the commencement is either to weave the end into the edge or to knot it to the first strand of the warp.
When finished, lift the work from the frame; the small loops at the end of the material can then either be carefully sewn together, or they can be cut and used as a decorative fringe.
The sewing at one end can be saved by carefully pushing the whole work up towards the end of the warp leaving loops at the other end only.
Particularly nice effects can be obtained by using variegated wool, and after a short time any child can easily weave bright patterns by working with different coloured wools at one time, using separate needles for each colour.
