Tsar Alexander I. was a great admirer of Abraham-Louis Breguet and as a consequence the Maison Breguet created the model "Le Réveil du Tsar" in his honour in 2003. This technical masterpiece features a magnificent silvered dial, alarm function, power reserve and 2nd time zone. The alarm function can be activated through a button on the side of the case, whereupon a window opens just below 12 on the dial to show a musical note to show whether the alarm is activated.
The Breguet manufactory had two inventions patented in 2003, which are both used in this timepiece: the column wheel to lock and activate the alarm and a mechanism to coordinate the alarm function with local time.
